Begin with the existing identity
The v9 candidate returned to the publishing house’s purpose, documented research method and canonical origami-bird branding. The existing logo files were reused unchanged. Navy, warm linen and amber, with literary and functional typography, supplied a consistent presentation across the public pages.
The initial scope included Home, About, Our Approach, Editorial Standards and Contact, supported by website-information pages. It omitted a separate leadership page. A technical blog was added later the same day under a new instruction.
Explain the work without exposing it
The public approach page describes discovery, source verification, full-text recovery, rights review and human editorial decisions. It does not identify the works or writers in the private research records. Automated checks compared public files against private identifiers to test that boundary.
The intranet received a matching visual layer while retaining its existing HTML, records, scripts and access-control files. File hashes established that the stylesheet was the only changed file within the preserved private set.
A reviewed candidate remains a candidate
The local verification covered public metadata and links, responsive layouts, the mobile menu and private search and filtering. Separate middleware tests checked the authentication logic. The live intranet continued to challenge unauthenticated requests.
The owner explicitly kept v9 local for review. These checks did not constitute a public release. At the time of this entry, v7 remained live, and the new design could still be refined without altering the public website.
